Controlled burn plan: Reconsidered??

If you are not aware of the West Bloomfield Township’s controlled burn plan, you SHOULD be. Review the following posts on our website to get background on the plan. Also see the just-published 8/25/21 West Bloomfield Beacon article entitled “Some residents express concern over controlled burn in West Bloomfield” for another good summary of this issue.

Update: Township Supervisor Steve Kaplan is considering making a motion at the September Township Board meeting to rescind the part of the CARDNO contract containing controlled/prescribed burning as a means to eradicating invasive species in the Jacobs Drain. Kaplan says his thinking is in response to the concerns voiced by residents and the existence of other methods. “Controlled Burns” flyer published by Cardno (PDF)Download
