Weather-related notices

From the West Bloomfield Township website:

Emergency Notice: Due to the inclement weather conditions, general township offices will be closed on Monday, January 6. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The Police and Fire stations will remain open, and emergency services will be provided to the public.

The Road Commission of Oakland County (RCOC) owns and maintains Township roads, if you have any concerns with regard to snow plowing, salting or potholes, on major road thoroughfares, please call the Road Commission at 248-858-4804.

Trash Pickup:

There is no notice on the Township or Rizzo Services websites about trash delays due to the weather.  So you should assume that trash will be picked up on schedule this week.

From the Rizzo Services Facebook page:

“If your community has collection today (Monday, January 6), pickup will be delayed one day. We will be posting a community by community list shortly listing any storm related delays.”

It’s not clear from their Facebook page whether Tuesday pickups will be delayed or not.

My personal advice: It may be wise to keep your trash in your garage for another week if possible. Or you can contact Rizzo directly or visit their web sites.

In any case, we ask that you keep a close eye on your trash cans and retrieve them promptly to prevent mishaps if they should get blown into the street. Or scattered by a snow plow.
