PRESS RELEASE — WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP
New Waste Hauling CompanyDuring the afternoon of May 29, 2024, West Bloomfield Township administration learned that GFL Environmental has sold its residential contracts to a company called Priority Waste. The change will take effect on July 1, 2024. We will be meeting with the leadership of GFL Environmental and Priority Waste in the near future to discuss this acquisition; however, we have been assured that all services and service days will remain intact.
In the last three weeks, GFL Environmental has had a large number of its staff depart for Priority Waste, thereby leaving them short-handed and struggling to maintain its normal routes and workloads. We apologize for the frustrations that this has caused, and implore your patience over the next four weeks, while GFL Environmental finalizes their services for West Bloomfield Township and Priority Waste takes over (July 1, 2024.)
Please continue to contact my office with any related concerns, for I am able to address the issue directly and efficiently with the GFL route supervisors.
Sincerely,
Steven Kaplan, J.D.
West Bloomfield Township Supervisor
