Temporary concrete mixing plant going up on Northwestern Hwy

Perhaps you noticed. A plot of land being cleared on Northwestern Highway just south of 14 Mile Road. No, it’s not for new retail stores. Not for more office space and not for another hotel. The City of Farmington Hills approved a temporary concrete mixing plant to be constructed on this parcel. The concrete mixed on this site will be used for the repair of roads in the Heritage Hills subdivision in their city.

The Farmington Hills planning commission voted unanimously to approve the plans to allow the temporary plant on the site despite the objections of area residents. The biggest concerns voiced were regarding noise, dust, and air quality. According to a news posting on the Hometown Life website, a representative of company operating the plant said that they understood the concerns but that “they would do everything they could to limit the impact on the surrounding area.”
