A gift for you from our new neighbor

As I drove home after an appointment this afternoon, I noticed a large pot of Mums at the foot of every mailbox on my street. Being curious, I drove a few more blocks to see how far they went. Before long, I spotted pickup truck with a group of women delivering the Mums. I asked what this was about. They said that they were from Anthology Farmington Hills and that, as new neighbors, they were delivering flowers to all of Kimberley North as a way to introduce themselves and to invite us to their open house on Thursday, November 11th from 4 PM to 7 PM.

Anthology Farmington Hills is the assisted living and memory care facility in the final phases of construction on 14 Mile Road directly across from our subdivision.

The invitation included with each pot says, “This Mum is a gift to show our appreciation. We are so happy to be a part of your community and would like to invite you to our upcoming Fall Festival as we celebrate our brand new senior living community! The festival will be on the grounds of our future setting, opening in early 2022. From a petting zoo, pony rides, food trucks to hot cider, s’mores, and prizes. Come spend a few lively hours with us! RSVP to 248-467-8148. This will be a socially distanced event. Masks required. This event is free, but please bring a food donation to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank.”
