Controlled burn plan update

If you are not aware of the West Bloomfield Township’s controlled burn plan, you SHOULD be. Review the following posts on our website to get background on the plan.

UPDATE: Since the last township board meeting, residents of Kimberley North and Old Maple Farms have had further discussions with township officials. They voiced their concerns and Township Supervisor Steve Kaplan has responded by adding this agenda item to the next Township Board meeting: “Discussion of the 2021 Cardno, Inc. invasive species professional services contract, specifically closed burning, with respect to the Jacobs Drain, with consideration to rescind the open burning segment of the contract”

Here are some things that concerned residents like you can do:

  • Talk to neighbors to make them aware of this plan and the issues
  • Please sign the petition the township to stop the burn. Help us get to 100 signatures to convince them of our shared concerns.
  • Contact WB Township officials
