New Michigan fireworks laws you should know
New laws were passed in the State of Michigan to regulate the use of fireworks by individuals.
You must be 18 or older to handle fireworks.
Days and time of use are permitted only as follows :
- December 31 (New Years Eve) until 1:00 am Jan 1
- Saturday & Sunday of Memorial Day weekend until 11:45 pm
- June 29, 30, July 1, 2, 3, 4 until 11:45 pm
- July 5 until 11:45 pm — ONLY if it falls on a Friday or Saturday
- Saturday & Sunday of Labor Day weekend until 11:45 pm
Earliest allowed time for each of the above dates is 11:00 am
Individuals cannot light fireworks on personal property such as schools, churches, or the property of another person without permission.
Violators could face a $1000 fine.
PLAY IT SAFE. FOLLOW THE LAW. BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR NEIGHBORS — AND THEIR PETS!
