14 Mile Road reconstruction to start this month

From a press release from the Road Commission for Oakland County date June 2014:
The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will reconstruct and realigning 14 Mile Road east of Northwestern Highway on the West Bloomfield Township/Farmington Hills border beginning in Mid- to late-July.
The work is part of the larger reconstruction of the 14 Mile/Orchard Lake Road/Northwestern Highway “triangle” project. The rest of the triangle reconstruction will take place in 2015.
Project Details
The 2014 portion of the project will involve realigning 14 Mile Road east of Northwestern Highway, moving it to the south of the current intersection.
In 2015 RCOC will reconstruct the 14 Mile/Orchard Lake Road intersection as a multi-lane modern roundabout. Also in 2015, the Road Commission will reconstruct Orchard Lake Road from 14 Mile Road to just north of the Northwestern Highway/Orchard Lake Road intersection and reconstruct 14 Mile between Northwestern Highway and Orchard Lake.
The project is intended to improve traffic flow and safety in and around the 14 Mile /Orchard Lake intersection, and is part of the Northwestern Connector project.
Project Schedule
The reconstruction of the east side of the 14 Mile/Northwestern Highway intersection is expected to start in mod to late July and be completed in November. Work on the remainder of the project will start in November. Work on the remainder of the project will start in April 2015 and be completed in November 2015.
Impact on Traffic
During the 2014 work, 14 Mile Road will be closed to through traffic between Northwestern Highway and Middlebelt Road and completely closed at the east side of Northwestern Highway. The detour for 14 Mile traffic will be Middlebelt Road to Northwestern Highway and back to 14 Mile and vice versa.
